•If you are
installing your first top - this tip is for you.
1. Dry fit top before starting installation
2. Make sure you have the correct top for your car before removing
old top.
3. Check bow height by placing a yardstick on the belt molding inside
edge at center of glass or plastic curtain
4. Lay yardstick flat on curtain and check measurement at center of
rear bow where wiron is tacked.
5. This measurement should not be more than one half inch either way
from the bow height measurement for new top
6. If this measurement is more than one half inch reset the rear bow.
7. Our top/curtain will not fit properly unless the bow height is correct Bow Height Charts
Removing
the existing top from your car can be a lesson in top replacement.
Pay attention to and learn from what the previous installer did. Keep a
Polaroid
camera handy -take a lot of photos. We always know we will remember what
we
saw but - do we ?. Take a lot of photos.
Removing
the old Top
Prior to removing the old top, measure the distance between the top bow
that is
just over the rear window and the front edge of the trunk. This measurement
will
be vital when installing the new top.
