Convertible Top Cleaning Instructions

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS- VINYL CONVERTIBLE TOP

Most automatic car washes will not harm sport topping fabrics. Washes with water jets and hanging cloths are preferred to those using heavy brushes. We recommend hand washing. Wash in partial shade rather than in direct sun. Wet entire car before sudsing top. A sponge is best to use with a solution of lukewarm water and soap or mild dish washing detergent. A soft bristle brush may be necessary to remove more stubborn spots.
1. Rinse entire car with hose to remove all soap and to prevent streaking on painted and chrome surfaces.
2. Allow car to dry in shaded area
3. Chamois excess water off the body. Sometimes several cleanings may be necessary. Application of water repellent wax finishes, dressings or preservatives often cause stains that are difficult to remove
Do not use solvent or solvent based cleaners. The use of stronger cleaners should be left to experienced professionals to avoid any discoloration or degradation of the vinyl.
A program of keeping the top clean by regular washing will enhance the life and beauty of the top and make successive cleanings easier.

CLEANING INSTRUCTIONS - STAYFAST (CLOTH) TOPS

Stayfast (cloth) is speacially treated to fight stains and mildew.  It is strongly recommended, however, that you should - wash you top regulary as follows:

3. Wet entire car, using luke warm water, a sponge and mild soap (not detergent) to wash top evenly.
4. Let soap stay on top for few minutes.
5. Rinse thoroughly with hose.
6. Let car dry in direct sunslight, removing excess water from body with chamois.
7. Repeat these steps several times, if needed.
Please do not use water-repellent, wax, or other preservative finishes witch can stain top.  Strong abrasive cleaners should be used only by experienced professionals.  Automatic car washes are acceptable provided they are brushless.
Do not store top when wet/damp or dirty.
